The experience
What to expect
After a week of surfing, your body has opinions. The hammam is the traditional answer. You sit in steam until your skin opens up, an attendant scrubs you from neck to ankle with black soap and a kessa glove, and then you rinse and lie down for a massage with argan oil.
Nothing about it is polished or staged. It is a neighbourhood bathhouse doing what it has always done, and two hours is long enough to do it without rushing. Most guests book it on a rest day, when the swell is flat or their arms have given up.
We drive you there and back from Taghazout, Tamraght or Agadir, so you do not have to find your own way home with damp hair.

How your session runs
Pick-up in the village
We collect you from your hotel, guesthouse or surf camp in Taghazout, Tamraght or Agadir and drive you to the spa.
Into the steam
You sit in the hot room until your pores open, then the attendant scrubs your whole body with black soap and a kessa glove.
Rinse and cool down
A rinse after the scrub, then a few quiet minutes before the massage.
Argan oil massage
A full massage with argan oil, aimed squarely at the knots that surfing and travel leave behind.
Drive back to the village
We take you back to your door.

It is thorough. The kessa glove is meant to take off dead skin, so there is real pressure. Tell the attendant if your skin is sensitive and they will go gentler.
Is it safe to book while pregnant?
Speak to your doctor first. The heat of a hammam is not always recommended during pregnancy.
