About this trip
Most people pick one or the other, either the gorge with the pools or the dunes on the coast. This day gives you both, which means seven to eight hours on the road with the landscape changing twice around you.
The morning belongs to the valley. You drive up into the foothills through argan forest and Berber villages, walk down into the canyon with a guide, and get time at the rock pools while the day is still cool. The water is cold because it comes off the mountains, so it is a good hour to be in it.
After that the route turns back toward the ocean and the Timlalin dunes, a band of sand that runs down to the water with the Atlantic on one side and dry hills on the other. There is free time to walk the ridges and take photographs before the drive home. Pickup and drop-off from Agadir, Taghazout or Tamraght are included.
