The experience
What to expect
Sandboarding has a short learning curve and a soft landing, which makes the Timlalin dunes a forgiving place to try it. The slopes are steep enough for a real run and the sand is deep enough that falling over costs you nothing.
The route north follows the same coast road as the sand dunes tour. You stop at Aghroud to look at the painted houses and the murals, walk into one of the limestone canyons with the guide, and then carry on to the dunes.
Boards and instruction come with the trip, and this is the version to pick if the riding is the main thing you are after rather than the whole sunset production. Pickup and drop-off from Agadir, Taghazout and Tamraght are included.

How your session runs
16:00 — Hotel collection
We collect you from your hotel in Agadir, Taghazout or Tamraght and head north along the coast.
17:00 — The Aghroud houses
A stop at the painted houses, where the walls facing the sea are covered in murals.
17:20 — Into the canyon
A guided walk through the limestone gorges and dry riverbeds at the foot of the Atlas.
17:45 — Reaching Timlalin
The dunes come into view, sand running straight down to the water.
18:15 — On the boards
Boards out, a quick lesson, then you are riding the slopes down toward the ocean.
19:45 — Golden hour
The light goes warm over the cliffs as the sun drops toward the Atlantic.
20:00 — The drive back
Back along the coast road, past the surf villages on the way south.
21:00 — Back at your hotel
We drop you at your accommodation in Agadir, Taghazout or Tamraght.

Do you need experience to try sandboarding?
No. The guide starts you on the gentler slopes and you move up when you are ready. Most people are linking runs within a few goes.
Is sandboarding equipment included?
Yes. The board comes with the trip, and so does the instruction. Bring your own if you prefer, but there is no need.
How is this different from the Timlalin sand dunes tour?
Both trips go to the same dunes. The sand dunes tour is built around the full sunset outing, while this one keeps the focus on the boarding itself.
What should I bring sandboarding?

There are three start times: 09:00, 14:00 and 16:00. The later two are the ones to pick if you want the low golden light on the sand.
