About this trip
Timlalin is a band of tall sand along the coast north of Agadir, one of the few spots in Morocco where the dunes come right up to the ocean. From the top of a slope you look down onto cliffs, water and not much else.
The drive north is part of the outing. You pass the surf villages and stop at Aghroud, where the houses facing the sea are painted in bright colours and covered in murals. Later there is a walk on foot through the limestone canyons in the foothills.
On the dunes you get a board and a short lesson, and beginners pick it up faster than they expect. The whole day is timed so you are standing on the sand when the sun goes down, before the drive back to Agadir.

The sand opens up in front of you, sloping down toward the water.
18:15 — Boarding the dunes
Boards and a lesson, then runs down the slope with the ocean ahead of you.
19:45 — Sunset over the Atlantic
The light turns gold and the sun slides down behind the cliffs.
20:00 — Drive back to Agadir
Back along the coast road past the surf villages, in the dark by now.
21:00 — Back at your hotel
