About this trip
Marrakech sits about three hours inland from Agadir, so this is a long day, roughly fourteen hours from your door back to it. People book it anyway, because the drive is the price of entry and once you are inside the walls there is a whole city to walk.
You leave the coast early and break the journey in the lower Atlas for coffee. In Marrakech a licensed guide takes over and leads the group on foot: the Koutoubia minaret from the outside, the square at Jemaa el-Fnaa where the performers and the juice carts set up, then into the souks, where the lanes narrow and the workshops sell leather, spice and metalwork. Bring shoes you can walk in, because the medina covers a few kilometres.
The guided part ends in the early afternoon and the rest of the day is yours. Eat where you like, and if you want to see the Bahia Palace the guide will point you to the entrance; tickets run about 100 MAD and are paid at the gate. We meet again late in the afternoon and drive back, reaching Agadir around 21:00.

We collect you from your hotel in Agadir, Taghazout or Tamraght and turn inland.

You arrive in the Red City and meet the licensed guide who will lead the walk.
11:30 Koutoubia Mosque
A look at the 12th-century minaret from outside, the tallest thing in the city.
12:15 Jemaa el-Fnaa
Into the main square, where the musicians, storytellers and juice carts work the crowd.
13:00 The medina and souks
On foot through the artisan quarters and the spice stalls, with the guide explaining what you are looking at.
14:00 Bahia Palace, optional
Tiles and gardens in a 19th-century palace. Entry is about 100 MAD and paid at the door.
14:15 Lunch and free time
The guided part is over. Eat where you like and spend the afternoon as you want.
17:00 Back to the coach
The group meets at the agreed point and settles in for the drive to the coast.
21:00 Drop-off
Back at your hotel in Agadir or Taghazout.
