About this trip
Taghazout sits north of Agadir and Tafraout sits well south-east of it, so the first hour is spent coming down the coast before the road turns inland. We pick you up earlier to make up the distance, and the day runs about an hour longer than it does from the city.
What waits at the end of it does not change. Tafraout lies in a bowl of the Ameln valley under pink granite, with villages built from the same stone. There is free time to walk and look around, and lunch at a local restaurant.
The way home crosses the Kerdous pass at 1,100 metres and then drops into Tiznit, where the medina is known for silver. You have time for the souk and the ramparts before the run back up the coast to the village.
