About this trip
Staying in Taghazout means early mornings in the water and not a lot else, which is exactly why people come. Agadir is a short run down the coast road though, and half a day there is worth the trip. We run this Agadir city tour from Taghazout so you are not chasing taxis or sitting on a local bus. We come to the village, pick you up, and bring you back.
The first stop is the Kasbah on the hill above the bay, where the whole of Agadir sits below you and you can trace the coastline you have been surfing. From there it is the marina and the Mohammed V Mosque, then a small argan cooperative where the oil is still pressed by hand. The last and longest stop is Souk El Had, one of the biggest markets in Africa, with roughly 90 minutes to wander, buy spices or leather, and test your bargaining.
Hotels, guesthouses and surf camps in Taghazout and Tamraght are all covered by the pickup, as are hotels in Agadir, so the logistics are on us. It is a gentle way to see the city on a flat morning, and you will be back on the coast in time for the afternoon.

We meet you at your hotel, guesthouse or surf camp in Taghazout or Agadir.
10:15 – Agadir Marina
Into the city and along the waterfront, past the marina and the yacht club.
10:30 – Agadir Kasbah
The high point of the morning, literally. Agadir Oufella looks out over the bay and the beach.
11:00 – Mosque & Argan
Photos at the Mohammed V Mosque, then the argan factory to see how the oil is produced.
11:30 – Souk El Had
As much as an hour and a half on your own inside the market, shopping and haggling.
13:00 – Hotel drop off
We run you back to Taghazout, Tamraght or your hotel in Agadir.

- The souk is shut on Mondays.
- Non-Muslims cannot go inside the Mohammed V Mosque, so we stop outside for photos.
- You will be on your feet for a while at the souk, so wear something comfortable.

No. We stop outside so you can take photos, but entry is for Muslims only.
What is there to buy at Souk El Had?
Spices, argan oil, leather, ceramics, baskets and souvenirs. Ninety minutes covers a fair amount of it. Expect to haggle, and open well below the first price.
Is the souk open every day?
It closes on Mondays. If you book a Monday, we reshuffle the order of the stops.
Is the Agadir city tour from Taghazout OK with kids?
Yes. It is mostly a drive with short walks in between, so younger children cope fine.
