About this trip
Taghazout is a surf village first, and staying here puts you closer to the valley than any hotel in Agadir. The turn-off into the foothills comes up quickly, so the drive is short and you reach the pools while the rock is still cool underfoot.
The day itself runs like the Agadir version. A stop at an argan cooperative, the climb through Berber villages, then the walk down into the canyon with a guide and free time at the water. What changes is the timing, because leaving from the village means an earlier start and quieter pools.
You are back in Taghazout in the early afternoon, which leaves the rest of the day for the surf or the terrace. Pickup and drop-off at your hotel or riad in Taghazout, Tamraght or Aourir are included.

How the day runs
Hotel pick-up (08:30)
We collect you from your hotel in Agadir, Taghazout, Tamraght or Aourir and head north out of the city.
Argan cooperative and Berber villages (09:30)
A short stop at a women's argan cooperative, then the road climbs into the foothills past small villages.
Foothill viewpoint (10:00)
A pull-in on the mountain road with a wide view back over the plain toward the coast.
The walk into the gorge (10:30)
Your guide leads the trail down from the car park into the canyon, over rock and loose stone, to the water.
Free time at the pools (11:00)
Swim, sunbathe on the flat rock or find shade under the palms. Your guide stays with the group.
The drive back (12:45)
Meet the driver at the car park and climb back out of the valley for the return run.
Hotel drop-off (13:45)
Back at your hotel in Agadir, Taghazout or Tamraght.

How long is the drive from Taghazout?
Shorter than from Agadir. The valley turn-off is up the coast, so you are in the foothills in well under half an hour.
Do you collect from my riad in the village?
Yes. We pick up anywhere in Taghazout, and from Tamraght and Aourir as well.
Will it be busy when we get there?
Leaving from the village gets you there ahead of the coaches from Agadir, so the pools are usually quieter on arrival.
Is the water really cold?
It comes off the mountains, not the sea, so yes. It stays cold in August when the coast is hot.
What do I need for the walk down?
Shoes with grip. The trail is rock and loose stone, and flip-flops are a bad idea.
Can I get back for the afternoon surf?
Usually yes. Drop-off in the village is early afternoon, which leaves the rest of the day free.
