Taghazout is a small village and the riding is on its doorstep, which means less time on the road and more time in the saddle. The horses work this stretch of coast most days and are not bothered by surfboards, dogs or the odd fishing boat.
From the village you ride out along the sand and then onto the tracks that thread through the argan scrub behind the beach. The guide reads the group and sets the pace to match. Beginners usually stay at a walk. Anyone with experience can push on where the ground opens up.
Allow an hour on horseback and about two hours in total, with pickup from Taghazout or Tamraght. If you are staying in the village, the drive to the ranch is short enough that you are back in time for the afternoon.
