About this trip
Because Taghazout sits north of Agadir on the same coastal road, Essaouira is a slightly shorter run from the village. The vehicle reaches us after the city hotels, so you get a little more sleep, and the drive comes in just under three hours.
Essaouira rewards a slow walk. The medina is small, walled and whitewashed, with the ramparts running along the water and the harbour packed with blue wooden boats. Five hours is generous here: you can see the fish market, watch a thuya workshop cut and inlay wood, climb the sea wall for the view, and still sit down for a long lunch.
It is a windy town, so a jacket helps whatever the month. We collect you from the village or from Tamraght, leave you to your own time in the medina, and bring you back in the evening.
