The experience
What to expect
Most people in Taghazout come for the surf, then run out of things to do on a flat day. This fills one nicely. The quad base is a short hop up the coast road, so you spend your time on the trails rather than in the van.
You get a helmet, goggles and a walkthrough of the controls before anyone sets off. Complete beginners are normal here and the guide leads from the front, so the convoy moves at whatever pace the slowest rider is comfortable with.
Figure on 1.5 hours of riding over sand, gravel and the kind of rocky climbs that make the throttle worth having. There is a tea and snack stop partway round, in one of the villages. Allow three hours from your door back to your door.
